Did you know…

louboutin-sequin2.jpgThe Australian magazine market is due to expand with the glossy market expecting the likes of Grazia and Glamour to the launch this year.

They will join the likes of:

Marie Claire
Madison
Harpers Bazaar
Cosmopolitan
Russh
Cleo
Vogue
Shop Til You Drop
Yen
Frankie
Women’s Health
New Woman

Am I missing any?

I doubt we need more mags in the market, but I love UK Grazia. I just hope they don’t make it too Australian. And with the UK Glamour, I hope they don’t use content from the US and UK versions… though it is going to be published by the same people who make Australian Vogue, so you can’t put it past them.

P.S. Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. If you are a beauty editor at a leading magazine, you would have had a fabulous day – what with all the “gifts” they all got just for clawing their way into the right jobs.

I didn’t know, but now I’m excited! More magazines is a GOOD thing.

It isn’t really…. if you look at Cleo, Cosmo, Shop Til You Drop, Marie Claire, Madison and New Woman, there isn’t much differentiating any of them. All celebrities, fashion, cheap and expensive clothes… who actually buys all those mags every month?

lol well i do…well actually i have a subscription (that was a gift) to madison which i enjoy cos it has a bit of a mix (not just fashion).

and i have bought 3 subscriptions to shop til you drop for people who are shopaholics! they love it!

so guess there is a market for all these mags!

i think we lead such hectic complicated lives that it’s nice to unwind with light reading :)

I love UK Glamour. Aus Glamour just won’t be the same… hope it won’t be filled with Aus celebs, esp the Aus TV celebs *spews*.

You forgot Oyster! It has a (rumoured) distribution significantly higher than at least one of the mags on your list. Shame on you.

    DUKE Magazine?

Its an independent mag made here in Sydney..
Think they’re at their 4th edition?

Kinda like Vice but smarter.. Great fashion spreads.. Really creative. Had a sci fi shoot with Tahula Morton last edition..
